Famed Translator of “One Hundred Years of Solitude” passes at 94:
Famed translator Gregory Rabassa (1922-2016) has passed at age 94. He was made famous by his widely acclaimed translation of Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude into English when García Márquez himself praised Rabassa at length in the The Paris Review in his 1981 Art of Fiction interview.
